Immigration Services

 

1. Immigrant Visa and Residence Permit due to Personal Economic Solvency Visa.

This Visa is appropriate for foreigners that wish to Invest in Panama or have acquired properties (apartments or houses) in the country and want to make these their main residences (permanent residence) or as a second home.
In order to apply for this Visa it is necessary to prove that the person possesses sufficient resources to satisfy their needs as well as the needs of their family should they have any. For this they must fit in to one of the three (3) following options:

- Must possess a fixed deposit account with a local bank for at least two years, with a minimum value of US$200.000.00.

- Must have purchased a property in his/her own name in Panama with a minimum value of US$200.000.00.

- Must have purchased a property in his/her own name with a minimum value of US$80.000.00 and additionally possess a fixed deposit account in a local Bank with a minimum value of US$120.000.00.

Advantages of this Visa

Requirements

- Power and request by an Attorney.

- Certified check or Managers check for the amount of one hundred dollars (US$100.00.) in favor of the National Treasury.

- Certified check or Managers check for the amount of five hundred dollars (US$500.00.) in favor of the ministry of Government and Justice. Repatriation.


- Present documents that prove that the foreign applicant fits in to any of the previously mentioned options in order to be applicable for this Visa.

- Good health certificate, where it states that the interested party does not suffer from any mental or contagious diseases, issued within the three (3) months prior to the date of its presentation. (Must be signed and sealed with the doctors' name, code and medical registry number)

- Criminal Record, issued in the last place of residence (two years), must be properly authenticated by a Panamanian Consulate.

- Two (2) recent carnet sized photographs.

- Original Passport valid for at least six (6) months and a photocopy of all of the pages that have been used as well as the general information of the interested party.


-Marriage and Birth Certificates of the under aged dependent children, properly authenticated by a Panamanian Consulated. (In case of dependents).

- Letter of responsibility (In case of dependents) Model provided by Delvalle & Delvalle

- Sworn Statement on Personal Background. (Form supplied by the Direction of Migration).

 

2. Immigrant Visa and Residence Permit with the status of Investor of a Macro enterprise.

This Visa applies to foreigners that invest their own capital in Panama in
order to establish a company or service whether it is commercial or
industrial, in an activity that is not exclusive to Panamanian Citizens.

It is important to mention that in order to apply for this Visa the
following conditions must be met:

a) Minimum capital investment of US$151,000.00.

b) The investment must be direct and the payment of the minimum capital
investment must be supported by documents such as a bank statement in favor
of the company.


c) The applicant must be a director or a share holder of the company and
possess the titles to the shares that reflect the total amount of the
capital.


d) The company must have at least three (3) Panamanian employees working
full time on their payroll, earning minimum wage and registered with the
Social Security Office (Caja de Seguro Social). For more information please

Requirements

- Power and request by an attorney.

- Certified check or Management check for the amount of one hundred (US$100.00) in favor of the National Treasury.

- Certified check or Management check for the amount of five hundred (US$500.00) in favor of the Ministry of Government and Justice.

- Good health certificate, where it states that the interested party does not suffer from any mental or contagious diseases, issued within the three (3) months prior to the date of its presentation. (Must be signed and sealed with the doctors' name, code and medical registry number).

- Criminal Record, issued in the last place of residence (two years), must be properly authenticated by a Panamanian Consulate.

- Certification from the Public Registry in which it ensures the following:

- Legal Status


- The status of Director or Dignitary of the interested party.


- Legal representatives of the company.


- Social Capital of the company, how many shares the company is divided in, and if they have nominal value or not.

- Validity of the company.


- A certification issued by the Secretary of the Company and an Authorized Public Accountant, where it states the amount of shares, the value of said shares and that they are freed and paid. (The Accountant must provide his ID and registry numbers, it must additionally be emitted before a Public Notary and may not be subscribed by the interested party).


- A certification issued by the Accountant of the Company, where it states the amount of share belonging to the interested party and that these shares are paid and freed. (The accountant must place his ID and registry numbers).

-Sworn Notarized Statement, which manifests the capital that has been invested in the company, how many shares are owned, the type of shares and that they are paid and freed.

- As long as the interested party is not a Director or Dignitary of the company, the certificate representing the shares must be presented along with a copy for comparison.

- A copy of the payroll emitted by the Caja de Seguro Social (Social Security Office), where three Panamanians appear with minimum wage, along with a pay stub. Authenticated by said entity.

- The company must be in good standing with the Caja de Seguro Social (social security office)

- Sworn Tax Return with pay stub, authenticated at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

- A Simple copy of the Type A Commercial or Industrial License of the Company.

- Proof of Investment (Contact Us).

- Original Passport along with a copy of the pages that have been used as well as the general information of the interested party, valid for at least six (6) months.

- Two (2) Carnet sized photographs.

- Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificates for any under aged dependent children, properly authenticated by a Panamanian Consulate . (If case of dependents).


- A letter of responsibility (In case of dependent) . Model provided by Delvalle & Delvalle.

- Sworn Statement on Personal Background. (Form supplied by the Direction of Migration).

 

3. Visa of Immigrant and Permission of Residence granting status as micro business Investor.

This Visa applies to foreigners that invest their own capital in Panama in
order to establish a company or service whether it is commercial or
industrial, in an activity that is not exclusive to Panamanian Citizens.

It is important to mention that in order to apply for this Visa the
following conditions must be met:

a) Minimum capital investment of US$40,000.00 to US$151,000.00.

b) The investment must be direct and the payment of the minimum capital
investment must be supported by documents such as a bank statement in favor
of the company.


c) The applicant must be a director or a share holder of the company and
possess the titles to the shares that reflect the total amount of the
capital.


d) The company must have at least three (3) Panamanian employees working
full time on their payroll, earning minimum wage and registered with the
Social Security Office (Caja de Seguro Social). For more information please

4. Immigrant Visa and Residence Permit under the Resolution of the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development included in the 10%.

Foreigners that are going to be hired by a Panamanian company and prove to the Immigration Department that they possess proper authorization from the Ministry of Labor to work within the 10% of ordinary personnel.
It's important to mention that in order to apply for this visa the following conditions must be met:

a. Possess a Work Contract with a Panamanian Company.


b. Earn a salary over US$500.00 and an additional US$75.00 for every dependent.


c. The employer must have at least ten (10) Panamanian employees for every foreigner.


d. The employer must have a Work Permit granted by the Ministry of Labor, which allows it to work.

Requirements

- A Power and request by an attorney. The Power of attorney must represent the Legal Representative of the Company as well as the interested party.

- A check for One Hundred dollars (US$100.00), in favor of the National Treasury.

- A check for Five Hundred dollars (US$500.00), in favor of the Ministry of Government and Justice. (Repatriation)

- A Medical Certificate of Good Health, where it states that the interested party does not suffer from any mental or contagious diseases, issued within the three (3) months prior to it presentation. (Must have be sealed and signed with the code and medical registry number).

- A Criminal Record, issued in the last place of residence (2 years), must be properly authenticated by a Panamanian Consulate.

- The Original Work Contract, endorsed by the Ministry of Labor, in favor of the interested party.

- A resolution from the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development, within 10% of labor legislation. The salary may not be under Five Hundred dollars (US$500.00) per month and at least Seventy Five dollars (US$75.00) for every dependent.

- Provide a simple photocopy of the Commercial License of the Company, Public Registry Certification, Original letter of employment on a sheet of paper with the company logo and a copy of the Payroll of the Social Security Office ( Caja de Seguro Social) along with the original for comparison by the Visa Processing Department.

- Two (2) carnet sized photographs.

- Passport valid for at least six (6) months with a copy of all of the pages that have been used, including the general information of the interested party.

- Marriage and Birth Certificates for any dependent children, properly authenticated by a Panamanian Consulate. (In case of dependent).

- A letter of responsibility ( In case of dependents) (Model provided by Delvalle & Delvalle)

- Sworn Statement on Personal Background. (Form provided by the Direction of Migration).

5. Immigrant Visa and Residence Permit granted to aliens married to a
Panamanian citizen

Foreigners that are married to Panamanians, even if they are widowed, may
apply for this Visa, as long as the marriage is registered in the Civil
Registry of the Republic of Panama.

In order to apply for this Visa you must have:

- Contracted a civil marriage with a Panamanian Citizen, said marriage must
be legally inscribed in the Civil Registry of the Republic of Panama.

- Posses a work permit granted by the Ministry of Labor, granting
permission to work or having presented an application for it with said
entity.

Advantages

a) It's an Immigrant Visa, so after the second year of having it, you
obtain a Panamanian ID (Cedula).


b) Indefinite Residency status is granted.


c) Applicant may work in the country, with due authorization from the
Ministry of Labor.

Requirements

- Power and request from an attorney.


- Certified or Management check for the amount of one hundred (US$100.00)
dollars, in favor of the National Treasury.


- Good Health Medical Certificate, where it stated that the
interested party does not suffer from any contagious or mental illnesses,
issued within the three months prior to the date of presentation.

- Criminal and Police Record, issued in the place where the
applicant resided for the last two (2) years, duly authenticated.

- Updated Marriage Certificate issued by the Civil Registry of
Panama. Valid for at least six (6) months.

- Birth Certificate of the Spouse.

- Birth Certificates of any children they have in common.

- Economic Solvency of the interested party, may be proved by
presenting one of the following documents: Letter of employment and Social
Security Stub, or pay stub, Sworn Tax Declaration statement along with a
payment receipt and photocopies to be compared or a bank reference. (When
the source of income is abroad, authenticated proof must be presented).

- Resolution issued by the Ministry of Labor, in which it authorizes the
foreigner to work on national soil in quality of being married to a
Panamanian. One Copy of the spouse's ID, authenticated at the Civil
Registry of Panama.

- Payment of ten dollarws (US$10.00) as payment for the Immigration Status, directed to the Ministry of Labor, for effects of the application of a work permit in
quality of being married to a Panamanian.

- Two (2) carnet sized photographs.

- Passport valid for at least six (6) months and a copy of all of the
pages that have been used, including the general information of the
interested party.

- Sworn statement on personal background. (Form is provided by the
Immigration Department).

6. IMMIGRANT VISA AND RESIDENCE PERMIT GRANTING A FOREST INVESTOR OF A MACRO BUSINESS.

Foreigners that invest a minimum of US$80,000.00 directly in approved reforestation ventures are eligible for this type of visa.

The applicant must provide evidence to the Department of Immigration and Naturalization of the source of the funds invested.

Once the visa has been approved, the foreigner receives a permission of residency for one year and when the same is expiring, the petitioner can request for a definitive permanency.

Once the visa has been approved, the foreigner will receive a residence permit valid for one year and when the same is expiring, the foreigner may apply for permanent residency and obtain a Panamanian I.D.

Each Visa application will be valid for only one foreigner and his/her dependents. Applicants with dependants must verify that the dependants fulfill the requirements to be considered as such.

2. Certified or cashier's check in the amount of US$100.00 in favour of the "Tesoro Nacional" (National Treasury).

3. Certified or cashier's check in the amount of US$500.00 in favour of the "Ministerio de Gobierno y Justicia" (Ministry of Government and Justice) as a repatriation's deposit.

4. Medical Certificate of Good Health.

5. Penal and police record issued within the last two years from the previous country of residence of the petitioner.

6. Passport issued by country origin with a minimum of six months validity.

7.Two carnet size photos.

8. Public Registry Certification.

9. Certification of the Secretary or Treasurer of the company, whereby the title of the shares issued in favour of the foreign applicant is credited and stating that the shares are released and properly paid (the shares must be of a minimum value of US$80,000.00).

10. Certification of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), where the total direct invested amount in the reforestation activity by the petitioner is detailed, certifying that the capital belongs to the investor. The C.P.A. must attach copy of his or her identification card and C.P.A. carnet.

11. Copy of the share certificate or certificates issued to the reforestation investor.

12. Authenticated copy by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Income tax form along with its payment receipts. If a yearly fiscal period has not concluded since the starting of operations of the company, instead of the income tax form, a copy of the Taxpayer Registry along with the original receipt must be supplied to be compared.

13. Authenticated photocopy of the Panamanian Environmental Protection Agency resolution where the legal entity or the foreigner was approved to be registered in the Forest Registry.

14. Proof of the investment made in a direct form in reforestation activities, by a minimum of US$80,000.00 which can be demonstrated with documents such as: certificate of the Public Registry issued in the name of the interested party, in which the inscription of the property that will be destined to the reforestation is registered, authenticated photocopy of the checks that were made as investment in reforestation, with paid seal of the Bank and the corresponding invoice, customs liquidations of machinery to be used in the reforestation project or another document that certainly proves the investment made in reforestation.

15. Complete the form of Sworn Declaration of Personal Background.

 

7. IMMIGRANT VISA AND RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR A MICRO ENTERPRISE FOREST INVESTOR.

Foreigners that invest a minimum of US$40,000.00 directly in approved reforestation ventures are eligible for this type of visa.

The applicant must provide evidence to the Department of Immigration and Naturalization of the source of the funds invested.

Once the visa has been approved, the foreigner will receive a residence permit valid for one year. As the permit approaches its expiration date, the petitioner must request a one year extension of the residence permit. This is to be done annually, for 3 consecutive years. After a total of 4 years with the residence permit, on the 5th year the foreigner may apply for permanent residency and obtain a Panamanian I.D.

Each Visa application will be valid for only one foreigner and his/her dependents. Applicants with dependants must verify that the dependants fulfill the requirements to be considered as such and include an additional US$4,000.00 per dependant.
